David Nieves

David Nieves, PT

Graduated from Hunter College, The City University of New York in 1995 with a Bachelor’s in Science in Physical Therapy, Cum Laude. Went on to complete an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Baruch College, the City University of New York in 2006, and a Masters in Finance from Baruch College in 2008. David is currently co-owner, manager and therapist of Evolving Gait Physical Therapy in Medford, NY

Early in his career David was fortunate to have been mentored in prestigious institutions such as Kessler Rehabilitation in New Jersey and Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.  David has 25 years experience in the field in various settings from manual, hands on orthopedic clinics to home care and long term care.  During his time as the New York and New Jersey representative for Innovative  Neurotronics he was instrumental in Functional Electrical Stimulation devices becoming a viable treatment and assistive device for individuals that developed foot drop after a stroke or central nervous system injury. While proficient in orthopedics and manual therapy he has gravitated toward  the challenges of neurological injuries over the past decade. David’s particular focus is in gait training for the neurologically impaired.

David is originally from New York City and has been a member of the Long Island community for the past 15 years and is actively involved in activities such as cross-training, martial arts, and dance.
